Introduction Tiffanie "Tiff" Beatty, the eldest of five, was born and raised by her mother in Tacoma, WA. After receiving her Bachelor's in Psychology from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA she moved to Chicago, Illinois. Tiffanie is currently Program Director at Chicago Center for Urban Life and Culture. Aside from her work at Chicago Center, Tiff Beatty is a writer, editor, spoken word, artist and event organizer. She has been a guest speaker and led workshops for young and underrepresented leaders around the country and abroad in Nicaragua and Belize. Her poetry has been featured in grassroots newsletters and online blogs. She is the founder of "Art Is Bonfire" Chicago's only bonfire cypher. Tiff is also a project manager, published poet, and featured editor for Black Freighter Productions, Co-Founder of BOOKS.GIRLS.COCKTAILS book club and a founding co-director of Girls Reclaiming Individual Purpose in Society (GRIPS), a Tacoma-based organization.
