- Secular Democracy (An initiative of Qaumi Ekta Trust, New Delhi) - HOME Welcome to the website of the QAUMI EKTA TRUST, a New Delhi based non profit organisation devoted to facilitating inter faith dialogue and communal harmony in India. The trust is an emodiment of the values and tireless contribution of its founder- the late freedom fighter and parliamentarian Mrs. Subhadra Joshi. We draw inspiration from stalwarts like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, B.R. Ambedkar, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and the countless foot soldiers who made sacrifices to free India from oppressive colonial rule and work towards creating a truly independent society based on equality and social justice. Today, under the guidance of Mr. Motilal Vora (veteran parliamentarian and secular leader) the organisation is consolidating and expanding. Secular Democracy is a magazine published by the Qaumi Ekta Trust that seeks to spread the message of national unity and universal brotherhood. Articles by leading scholars and activists provide an incisive perspective on issues related to India's polity and secular tradition. This website profiles Mrs. Subhadra Joshi: her life, her times and her work. It is also a portal of some of the writing that appears in our magazine.
