Introduction In 2004, two Latin American Lawyers created refugee council to raise immediate demands for community relief as part of their effort to build a new practice movement on community service to newcomers and immigrants. They used a range of supplementary action tactics, including workshops, discussion group, community meetings, political lobbing, community chain contacts, street corner speakers, etc. In addition, to strengthen their movement efforts among the newcomers, refugees, residents, new immigrants, new Canadians and community-based associations, they made a great effort for the creation of awareness about the quality of services into diverse community groups as the key of more successful process of insertion into the process of adaptation and an effective community development. An assembly gave the orientation to proceed with the configuration of a new community-based organization which called CASA DE LAS AMERICAS “RINCON DEL INMIGRANTE” CARI, initiating operations regularly and independently, January 3, 2005.
