About me

IntroductionThis is a blog about our immigration. But it's not only about immigration, for our anxieties around immigration help to masks deeper inequalities within and beyond our borders. So this is also a blog about what national citizenship and global justice should look like - and how migration can be part of the solution. I'm currently a Lecturer in International Development at the University of Edinburgh, having previously worked at London School of Economics. I'm also a Research Associate at the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford. I work on migration and asylum issues, international development and citizenship. This blog is intended to offer not just a critique of existing policies, but to suggest some new and innovative approaches to the many questions surrounding migration, social mobility and freedom. Usual disclaimer: the pieces here reflect only my personal opinions, not those of the institutions I work for.
