| Introduction | I've taught music since I was 15 years old beginning as a piano/organ/accordion teacher. After 20 years and completing a BA in Music from Whitworth college in Spokane I became a public school music teacher. I did both for awhile, but wanted time with my family so I retired from private teaching. In 1989 I began working for the Renton School district. There I've been a music teacher, 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, techie, mentor and soon will be a facilitator for National Board Candidates. In my other lives I am a doting grandmother, composer, performer, and competitive west coast swing dancer. Dancing, gardening, composing, playing music and my grandchildren help to balance my life. Being surrounded by children keeps me young. Lavender Muse is the creative side of me who hopefully inspires others to discover their creative self. |
