Introduction Robert John Arthur "Rob" Halford was born August 25, 1951 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England and raised in Walsall, England, as a teenager began singing for a local rock band called Hiroshima. Rob Halford met Ian Hill through his sister, eventually teamed up with Hill, K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton in the band Judas Priest. was the lead singer for Judas Priest for 20 years, from 1971 until 1992. Rob Halford defined heavy metal music and conclusively introduced the stud-leather style that millions of metal fans and performers around the world quickly adopted. Rob Halford left Judas Priest in 1992 began his own thrash band “Fight” which lasted until 1997. Halford then went on to form the short lived band “Two” that disband after the first release, he then joined with four other musicians and called the project “Halford”. The band “Halford” was the warm up band for Iron Maiden on their Brave New World tour in the U.S.. Halford reunited with Judas Priest and have since released a new full length album, Angel of Retribution. The recent world tour that accompanied the release marked the band's 30th anniversary.
