Introduction I have been interested in art since childhood. I had a natural ability to draw from observation early on. I was fortunate enough to have the encouragement of my family and teachers through elementary and middle school. I attended the High School of Art and Design in New York City. Art and Design was a vocational art school with instructors who had worked as creative professionals in the commercial art field. It was a very competitive and inspiring environment for a young art student. I studied with Irwin Greenberg, who along with Max Ginsburg ran an early morning painting class, "The Old Hat Painting Club", which helped shape the work of many realist artists. The training I received in High School enabled me to obtain a scholarship to attend Pratt Institute. I graduated from Pratt with a BFA in 1983 and have established a career as both a fine artist and illustrator. I continue to find the work I do both challenging and fulfilling. I am inspired by artists both past and present and strive to create art that will leave a lasting impression on those who view it.
