She follows in the grand tradition of her late daddy, Sam Shapiro, renowned for his perennial mayoral campaigns, highly publicized capers and hijinks, fondness for old buildings, and compulsion to express himself. For thirteen years, she plied her wide-ranging talents at her Old Waverly History Exchange & Tea Room, serving local and globetrotting afternoon tea lovers and garnering multiple Top Ten Restaurant and Baltimore's Best Awards. She lives along the Inner Harbor, where writing, thinking, dreaming, scheming, and singing, along with extreme gardening, crafting and homekeeping, distract her from rehabbing the lifetime project she calls home.
