| Interests | I enjoyed owning my flower shop for the past 34 years but now I say good bye to that life. Did I mention I actually owned 2 florist shops and a bagel store at the same time? Well, I did and it was crazy times but I learned so much. What did I learn? That the food business is hard and I probably won't ever do that again and also, having 2 flower shops does not necessarily mean earning twice as much! Actually, quite the opposite. What headaches it was and it took me 19 years to figure out that 1 was better than 2. My husband joined me full time in the company for the last 20 years of it and it truly was a lifestyle. A lifestyle of working 6 days a week. Did we love it? Yes. Do we want to do it again, No. What did we learn during that time? Too much to share here so perhaps consulting is on our list of things to do in the future (but hopefully get paid this time). All kidding aside, you know when you hear "I wish I knew that then"? I truly wish I knew then what I know now. My business was the most successful in it's last 3 years and that's saying something being 2 of those years were during the Covid Pandemic. Yikes! |
