| Introduction | We are Niall from Edinburgh, Scotland and Antoinette a Dutch American. We are both teachers and writers of educational materials and met at York University where Niall was researching a PhD in Medieval History and Antoinette was reading for an MA in Medieval Studies. After 15 yrs in The Netherlands and 5 in the UK we moved, in August 2010, to a traditional 'Longere' just outside of the village of Charnizay in the south Touraine.
