| Introduction | I am a single mom of a precocious 12 year old boy, Will, who is the center of my universe. Together we take on the world and the challenges that life throws our way, knowing that God will guide us every step of the way. A critical care respiratory therapist, in 2006 my work world and my personal world collided as Will walks through the labryinth of Autism and suffers from seizures brought on by a mass in his head. No sooner than his medical rollercoaster leveled out and became par for the course for us, we have learned that I must begin my own medical journey, diganosed with a Chiari 1 Malformation with a Syringomyelia... and it turns out my version of day to day life isn't exactly normal. In doctor's offices, hospital rooms, school classrooms, at work and in our home, with teachers, strangers, and our friends and family, we try our best to live each and every day that God has given us to the fullest, knowing all-in-all, our life is rather blessed. |
