Introduction My first passion in life was music, playing professionally through my entire teens and into my early adult life. Along with that passion came the passion of languages, English creative writing, Spanish, later biblical Greek, German and presently French is a new joy to learn. After my undergraduate training came the passion of philosophy (MDiv Boston University). Yet more graduate work gave me the passion of helping victims of psychological trauma. Tango has given me new insights as a therapist in the therapeutic process of bilateral stimulation to the brain for trauma victims. Being in the military as a Behavioral Health Officer brought the passion of long-distance sports, and while living in Europe, I completed many marathons and triathlons. All that training has turned into "endurance tango"! Today all my passions have combined into allowing my body to be an instrument of the music, dancing nearly every song as long as the music plays. Then I write about it. Tango isn't a dance for me; it is the focus of all previous passions into one wonderfully amazing thing: Argentine Tango.
Interests I was born a percussionist according to my mother. I played rhythms on her back as an infant. I was obsessed with percussion. At 13 I was playing as percussionist in the Nevada Opera Company. Later played in studios / jazz big bands /rock bands (Eddie Money) and finally with the MGM Orchestra. Now I am a clinical social worker -- a therapist learning from combat veterans all about the human spirit (how it can be lost and found again).
