| Introduction | I am a general pediatrician and mother of two. I have a general pediatric practice called, Soha Pediatrics, and I also work as a pediatric hospitalist at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in NYC. Through the years of being both a mom and a pediatrician, there is one thing that I’ve learned: parents only want what is best for their kids. In loving them, we often times make the right decisions, and sometimes, we make the wrong ones. The multitude of information on the web and different ‘expert opinions’ we hear can invoke a lot of confusion when we make decisions for our kids. As a mother, I understand that parents only want to do what is right. Therefore, it is my goal as a pediatrician to help parents decipher some of the current medical news that I encounter in my daily life. Here, I will share my stories, opinions of my colleagues and peers, opinions of other non-medical parents, and recommend resources that will help us find the answers. |
