| Introduction | I am a writer. Beyond that - and there is nothing beyond that - I will tell you what others have said of me: I am a hurricane sort of woman. I am unpredictable and ecclectic - especially if you're trying to buy me a gift. I am always at least two versions of myself at once. I am cranky at sunrise and profound at sunset. I am not very graceful, and I am moody and difficult even on my best days. I am high maintenance, but I always give more than I expect to receive. I am quick to anger and even quicker to forgive. If you stay up late with me, I'll make you feel alive. And I'll probably be the reason you start smoking. I will challenge you, but I'll enjoy it even more if you challenge me. I am judicious and empathetic and generous - and very, very spoiled. And I will talk to you about literature the way most people will talk to you about love. |
