| Introduction | My name is Candice and I am from Durban, South Africa. Although I now live in Melbourne, I still have deep ties with South Africa. I have been sewing and designing since I was a child. My mother is an amazing designer and was my inspiration throughout my life. I studied fashion design when I finished school but beading has always been my first love. My interest in beadwork stems from my love for traditional African beadwork, beads were used to tell stories and profess ones love for another. I have always been fascinated by the symbolism and stories behind each piece. |
