OccupationProfessor, Paul Sabatier University
LocationToulouse, France
IntroductionI am Professor at the Paul Sabatier University of Toulouse, France. I received a PhD in theoretical chemistry from the same university in 1993 (supervisor: Dr F. Spiegelman), and I accomplished my professorial thesis in 2002, entitled “Functional chemical groups: actors or spectators?” (Supervisor: Dr. J.-P. Daudey). I am the director of the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Graduate School of Research in Toulouse (https://nanox-toulouse.fr/). My research interests include Metal clusters and Nanoclusters, Coordination Chemistry and Theoretical Inorganic Chemistry, Global Optimization Methods, Spectroscopic Properties of Molecules, mainly using DFT methods. These last years, I attempt to bridging the gap between molecular inorganic chemistry and nanochemistry. On the educational side, I am involved in undergraduate and graduate chemistry courses. Since a couple of years, I develop a website that shows 3D representations of molecules and associated properties, that may be used as a teaching tool (http://www.vchem3d.com)
