Introduction	A Feature Film Screenplay by Melissa "Scarlet" Perez. Based on a true story, it's a realistic journey of a person afflicted with Bipolar Disorder, a topic that hasn’t been touched upon in American mainstream cinema. I believe this story will affect many people with and without Bipolar Disorder, as well as help break the stigma of mental illness in general. The story’s centered around Marisa, a young girl just looking to lead a “normal” life, but the rollercoaster of her Manic highs and Depressive lows get in the way. Set in Present day Asheville, North Carolina at a Mood Disorder Support Group, Marisa tells her story to her peers. Through the use of dramatic Flashbacks and realistic Voiceovers we see how it feels to be Bipolar. Although it’s a drama, there is quirky comedy sprinkled throughout.
