Interests You can call me Cherie, unless you are from my hometown, Lund, Nevada, there, I am still called 'Cherie Lynn' said as fast as possible. I know southerners slow down their words...well I descend from transplanted southerners, (and northerners) but I have spent my life chasing my southern ancestry, only dabbling at my Canadian, Scots, Irish, English, Welch, German, and Slovene roots. Yes, I said Slovene not Slovakian. Slovenia was owned by Austria for 800 years, so when my great-grandparents came they said they were Austrians (even less Americans had heard of Slovenia in their day). More about Slovenia in the future, but for now, I should say that I had a mother (and grandmother) who took me with them when they visited graveyards and libraries; I was taught to read the old Scots and English handwriting (from the 1700s) when I was eight. So, my dabbling includes being able to read (or, if rusty, able to re-learn) the handwriting from all of the above. There, enough said, lets get on with the genealogy!
