| Introduction | Mike "Smokey" Staples lives and works in the costal community near Point Arena, California. His studio is known as the "Fireman's Forge". Recycling objects and pieces of metal in to useful and attractive pieces of art are the goals of his craft. He considers himself an "Industrial Artist", and hopes that you will find his work whimsical, useful, and esthetically pleasing,... and, an inspiration to give your own forgotten items a new life. He also considers himself to be a "liberal" who believes in the principles that created this country as a nation of "Free Thinkers". He has a basic mistrust for any group, religion, or government, that attempts to force its ideologies on others. He believes that the "Golden Rule" is basic, and should guide us above all else. |
