| Introduction | I'm a long-ago transplanted Philadelphian who loves and enthuses for All Things Chicago: baseball (especially the team that wears Cubbie blue), hot dogs, the public parks and zoos, the outstanding libraries (especially the Newberry),the city's history and singular architecture. Last but not least? Chicago's schools top my list, especially the University of Chicago's Writer's Studio, where I teach Writing for Children workshops, and Chicago's Public Schools, where I often teach Young Writers and serve as a Writer-in-Residence. Notice what's missing? (Hint: think of that season that follows Fall.) |
