| Esittely | Born and bred in the U.S., I received a B.A. from Harvard University before moving to Israel. I served in the IDF for a full term of service (2 years) and then became a member of Kibbutz Kfar Blum, which was my home for ten years. Since 1995 I have lived in Jerusalem and have mostly been working at the Hebrew University where I recently completed a doctorate in the Political Science Department; this fall I will begin teaching there part-time as an adjunct lecturer. I have been active all my life in social movements and was actively involved in the passage of the Public Housing Bill as well as the lobby to change the laws regarding royalties on national resources. Since 2008 I have served as a member of Jerusalem's City Council (a publicly-elected, non-paying position) as a representative of Meretz. I am also proud to be the mother of two wonderful children. |
