About me

Occupation academic
Location Western Australia, Australia
Introduction I earn my wage as a university lecturer in Internet Studies, and occasionally feminist theory. My research focuses on feminism and SF, as well as feminist science studies, and sustainability. With Tess Williams, I co-edited the collection Women of Other Worlds and I've published chapters in collections such Speaking Science Fiction, The Cambridge Companion to Science Fiction, The Routledge Companion to Science Fiction , Queer Universes, and Sci-fi in the Mind's Eye. My book The Secret Feminist Cabal: A cultural history of sf feminisms will be published by Aqueduct Press in December 2009. If I didn't have to work, I'd spend much more time: enjoying the company of partner & 2.5 kids; reading SF; practicing backyard permaculture & seed saving; and playing board games. Luckily at least one of these activities gets to count as work - reading sf is 'action research':-)
