| Introduction | Mr. Laxmi prakash Semwal chairman of Shri jagdamba samiti focuses on doing business with a social incentive. According to him ‘It’s inspiring because we are doing business and helping the community, all at the same time’. In brief our model aims at ‘Doing business with social concern and developing rural societies with business thinking to empower them for eventually owning the value chain of agricultural commodities. So far he supported his team of Shri jagdamba samiti with Fresh food technology India to organize more than 4000 small apple growers in Tons and Yamuna valley of Uttarakhand Himalayas and formed six joint venture companies for collection, sorting, grading, pre-cooling and storage of apples. He mobilize the resources for women groups organized by his team to set up a modern fruit processing plant at Nogaon, uttarkashi and formed a trust and joint venture company of women to provide the economic independence and entrepreneurial skills for becoming a part of economically powerful India. |
