About me

Industry Arts
Occupation Designer and Instructor
Location Westerville, Ohio, United States
Introduction For the past several years I have traveled to teach cloth dollmaking. I find myself branching out into other arts and mediums as well as returning to those I taught years ago before my dollmaking days. I feel like I've only just begun! Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life but I'm still savoring today!
Interests Artist stuff - Renassance; faeries, gothic, angels, vampires, obviously a wide range. Sometimes it's hard to select which project dancing in my head I should work on next. I also enjoy gardening as long as I can do it by following the shade around the yard as the sun moves through the day. I don't enjoy the sun on my skin or directly in my eyes.
Favorite Movies You Got Mail, Princess Bride, Pirates of the Carribean, Labyrinth, Shakespeare in Love, the version of Taming the Shrew in Shakespeare Retold, ... I could go on. I love movies with marvelous costuming when that is only one glorious aspect, and movies that combine a good plot, some action, some romance and maybe a little twist ending. I hate predictable movies.
Favorite Music Musicians: Pink Floyd, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Moody Blues, Elton John, Enya, Genesis, Spock's Beard / Neil Morse, Dream Theatre and most Mozart. Many movie sound tracks by Danny Elfman, Howard Shore and John Williams to name a few.
Favorite Books My Favorite author is Terry Pratchett and I love the Discworld Series. I adore the work of Brian and Wendy Froud, Jim Hensen, Daniel Merriam, James Christiansen, Edward Gorey, Tim Burton, Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell, Amy Brown, Jessica Galbraith, John Howe, Alan Lee... basically fantasy art in a wide variety of styles and formats.
