| Introduction | Friends of Buck Wood (FoBW) was established in March 2004 and has a membership of 60 - 70 individuals. The group was formed from local residents in and around Thackley in Bradford, and other users of the wood. We work in partnership with Bradford Council who own Buck Wood. FoBW takes an active role in the care of the woodland. We survey the wildlife of the woodland, recording and photographing animals, birds, butterflies and moths, flowers, fungi, and trees. Not to mention the changing seasons in this very beautiful woodland, and anything else that looks interesting. FoBW produces leaflets about Buck Wood, to inform people about the history of the area, and to promote the wood as a place for others to visit. We also organize events for the general public related to aspects of the woodland and its history. |
