Introduction	My name is Jeremy Schmidt and I am a Human Biology Major at UT. Though I am originally from the northeast, I would say I've lived in Texas long enough to call myself a Texan. Like most aspiring scientists my age, government and politics is a subject that never quite gets my full attention, yet I am aware that it is something that should never be completely neglected. I have voted in every current election since I became legal to vote, but my political experience ends about there. Having a very moderate political ideology, I have voted on all sides of the political spectrum. Taking the first american government course with Professor Seago last summer was fantastic for teaching me the fundamentals of what everbody should know about their country's governing body, and this summer I and looking forward to learning more of the specific issues that concern our great state, as well as eventually matching political positions with the many political figures of our state that I hear about everyday.
