| Introduction | Hello, my name is Mindy Tavernier. I grew up in Blue Earth, MN and went to college at the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse. I student taught in 3rd grade in LaCrosse. My first teaching experience was at Granada Huntley East Chain schools teaching 7th grade math, 8th grade math, Applied Math, Geometry, and Algebra for two years. Then I moved to Inver Grove Heights and have taught math to grades 6-8, with the most recent years in the 7th grade. At Inver Grove Heights, I have had also the experience of teaching the gifted and talented students and the intervention students. I got married in 2009 to Rick Tavernier who is a teacher at Simley high school. We have just recently had our first child, a girl, named Maya who is 4 months old! Both my husband and I are coaches in the district. He coaches football and girls basketball, while I coach track and recently coached volleyball. I love being part of this district and and excited to start this new part of my career as the District 199 K-8 Math Coach! |
