| Introduction | I grew up in Charlotte, N.C. I attended Appalachian State University where I received a Master of Arts degree in Special Education. I had the honor of teaching students with disabilities for forty years. I am an avid reader. I enjoy coastal visits to my beloved Sunset Beach that is my Heaven on Earth, visits to the mountains of North Carolina, being at home with my four-legged Shih Tzu companions, Russell and Kasay, and moments I am able to spend with special friends. Joy in the Journey is my first literary work. It chronicles my walk with my Mother through Alzheimer’s Disease. It was published in June 2018 by BookWise Publishing. It is the book I wish I could have found while walking with my mother through the daily devastation of Alzheimer’s Disease. It is my wish that Joy in the Journey will be a blessing to those who find themselves walking with a loved one on this same journey . . . and that in the end as I did, they can see and feel the blessings that Journey brought to their lives. |
