| Introduction | A native of Oxford, Ohio, I attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. After graduating with a BA in government, I joined Teach for America and began teaching pre-kindergarden special education here in Washington, DC at Meyer Elementary School. During this time I launched a parent training program and earned a MAT at Trinity University. After three years with DCPS, I moved to EL Haynes public charter school where I taught general education for another two years. Currently, I work with The New Teacher Project working to ensure that teachers entering the classtoom are having a significant impact on student achievement. Having lived in this neighborhood for 7 years, I firmly believe we live in one of DC's most amazing and unique areas. I look forward to the opportunity to serve as a voice for our community and ensure our uniqueness is preserved and our opportunities grow! |
