Clandestine Pug™
Introduction | “Clandestine Pug” is the ‘nom de plume’ of a centrist and moderate political economist who’s interested in finding out the truth and beauty in humanity, political or otherwise. An unapologetic member of the intelligentsia guided by pragmatic idealism, he has advance degrees in political economy and public policy cum laude. A former military brat and global nomad, he is a product of “Manifest Destiny” — one of the last of a dying breed. “Clancy” read his first classic novel, George Orwell’s Animal Farm, at age 8. Since then, he’s been intrigued by the science of leadership and government. He is obsessed about national security, international affairs, counterterrorism intelligence, public policy, fencing, architecture, photography, philanthropy, and mountain climbing. A ‘noblesse oblige’ Kappa Alpha gentleman and a cradle ‘Kennedy’ Catholic, he lives by the stoic philosophy of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius (121 AD-180 AD) and seeks a legacy of great ideas and good causes, not fortune and fame. He runs marathons just for the medals and tries really hard to minimize his carbon footprint. His favorite poet is John Keats (1795-1821) and dabbles in poetry every once in a blue moon. |
