| Introduction | I have been involved with Rye Harbour RNLI Lifeboat station for over 12 years. I currently have three voluntary roles: Chairman of the Lifeboat Management Group, Admin Officer and the latest one - Press Officer. My family have been involved with life-boating since a station was established at Rye Harbour in 1803. The lifeboat station was taken over by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in 1833 – my family are still involved with the RNLI. Two of the crewmen who perished in the Mary Stanford Lifeboat disaster in 1928, were from my family – (my Great Uncle and his cousin). |
