IntroductionI started my law enforcement career as a deputy sheriff in a large city where I was assigned to the Special Investigations Division. The majority of my duties involved narcotics cases. I left that department and joined the Marine Corps where I was a member of F.A.S.T. Co. (Fleet Anti-terrorist Security Team Company). Upon discharge, I became a member of CDC. I have retired due to a line of duty injury but CDC and PERS didn't make it easy. I returned to school, received my paralegal certificate, worked in public interest law, and I now work for an organization where my duties include prosecuting claims against the VA on behalf of veterans and their dependents.
