| Introduction | I am a working mother. I never understood that term by the way, "working mother" I mean don't all mother's work? I guess I am a mother that also works at a job outside the home. I have never been proud of that in fact I harbor a lot of guilt for this. I am not casting judgement on others so please don't take this as an affront to the modern women's movement, rather I just miss being the one in the parking lot after school drop off, hanging out with the "black top moms" and being able to be the driver on the field trips, and helping out in the classroom. Luckily my job does afford me a lot of time off since I am a teacher in public school and my kids are in Catholic school I get the occasional day off that they don't have so I get to play school mom. Humor is my number one "go to" when the chips are down. It is a survival tactic and it seems to work on most occasions. I hope this blog rings true to my followers especially the title. My goal on most days is to embrace the chaos that is my life and see the many gifts of my four children, husband, and my role as a teacher gives me. |
