Introduction Rebound Hounds is a blog devoted to underdogs everywhere, with an emphasis on disabled dogs and shelter dogs. My own family includes two extra special pooches: Dewey, a three-legged Dachshund mix, and Tulip, a fun-loving pound puppy rescued from death row. In addition, I spent several years working at nonprofit animal shelters in Washington and California, and fostering countless dogs. Through my work in animal welfare, I encountered so many special animals; each with their own unique stories. Even though many of them were considered "less than perfect" in one way or another, my experience demonstrated that they were still full of life and vitality, and worthy of loving homes. My goal with reboundhounds is to demonstrate that disabled dogs and shelter dogs make wonderful companions and are capable of enriching our lives in so many wonderful ways.
