Dick Dewar

About me

Introduction Dick, a native of Boston, is a graduate of Boston College. He was commissioned in United States Air Force where he served for twenty years. His military assignments included several years as an ICBM launch officer, maintenance officer and plans officer all within Strategic Air Command. Other assignments included duties in Korea, Hawaii, and Gwinn, Michigan in security and law enforcement. He has a graduate degree from Central Michigan University and has attended colleges in California, Arizona, and Michigan. His community service began over twenty years ago when he was appointed to a citizen’s traffic committee. Dick retired for the second time after executive positions in the private security industry. He and Mary Lou moved to Aiken in October of 2003. He is a Houndslake resident who enjoys golf and serving his community as an active member of the Friends of the Aiken County Public Library and the St. Andrews Society of Aiken. He was elected a member of the Aiken City Council in November of 2007.
