| Introduction | I'm a 50-something single cartoonist and naturalist who lives in coastal Oregon in a cabin in the woods. I revel in things others ignore, or don't see. For example, while most people here look for whales, I look for mating slugs. |
| Interests | I find it odd that I can't get commas to appear in the proper place on this page. Beyond that, if I could be anything in the world, it'd be a stand up comic. There's nothing I love more than being in a room with people laughing. Alas, in Waldport, Oregon, population 2050, there aren't any comedy clubs. I do occasionally get to do a program at a local pub or at community events. The most bizarre request I had was to do a 20 minute humorous routine on fungus. I guess the night of the program Jerry Seinfeld and Ellen DeGeneres were busy that night, and they figured that since I use to work as a naturalist it'd be a snap for me. |
| Favorite movies | I'd like to say that most of the movies in my Netflix queue are arty or foreign films, but I like pretty main stream stuff, mostly comedies or psychological thrillers. |
| Favorite music | I know it's odd, and in fact I've never met anyone else with the same taste, but there is no music I prefer over silence. If I have to listen to music, the type that disturbs me the least is New Age. |
| Favorite books | I'm writing a book, The Right Stuff in the Wrong Body, an autobiography of Jackie Cochran, a woman who, among other things, headed the Women Airforce Service Pilots during World War II. Consequently, most of my reading has something to do with flying or WWII. |
