| Introduction | After earning my Home Economics degree from the University of Illinois, I have worked as an interior designer, managed a craft store, offered custom dressmaking services and sold fabrics from my home. I fell in love with heirloom sewing and launched a line of patterns for women within the heirloom industry. That led to opening my retail fabric/sewing machine dealership storefront in1990, closing 13 years later to go totally E-commerce with my website. I began to design and sell artistic jackets on a sweatshirt base. That led to many years focusing on sweatshirt makeovers, what I called 'Creative Sweatshirt Jackets', and publication of patterns, books, and DVDs. From 2005 through spring, 2018 I traveled extensively teaching and vending at sewing expos, shops, and guilds around the country. I now focus on teaching ALL ages at my Sunroom Sewing Studio in Jackson, TN, and accept only a few 'traveling' bookings each year. Creative Sewing Retreats for 1-4 people at my spacious and sunny Sewing Studio. |
