| Introduction | My name is Jeff, and I am the editor of this Blog. My Blog title, The Capitol Tribune, is not an allusion to a periodical newspaper. It is a carefully crafted name. I am one who spends many of his days in the shadow of the most powerful symbol on the planet: the U. S. Capitol Building. The title of “Tribune” in ancient Rome had dual meanings. There was a Tribune of the People, a political office, and then there was a military Tribune, which served as a staff officer in the legions. I use it in its Roman military meaning. This blog is a journal. I do have a very dedicated interest in classical Greek and Roman literature, so you will see classical themes in my posts from time to time. But considering myself a renaissance man of sorts, I also have an interest in just about everything. At times my posts may be frivolous, many times serious and even philosophical, but I hope never boring. Thanks for visiting my Blog. |
