Introduction I would say that I am shy at times, but very outspoken at others. I find joy in spending time with family and friends, but mostly with my 3 year old daughter, Skyla. I am a single mother of one and I too am an only child (my brother passed away in 1995). I suppose I am not uncommon from anyone else when I say that I have been through some things. One major challenge that I have had to face recently is my mother being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. My mother’s bout with breast cancer has definitely made me appreciate life and is a constant reminder that no one is promised tomorrow. She is 1 1/2 years cancer free, by the way. Another challenge is my weight. Since the age of 22 (I am now 32), I have gained about 80 lbs. Anybody that has dealt with weight issues, know that this is a lifelong challenge that takes will power, tenacity, and a support group. I want to lose weight for my health, but also to be around for my daughter. I have realized that this struggle is something that has to be taken one day at a time with lots of patience. Whatever your purpose is in using the site (seeking friends, support, or both), I wish you the best of luck in your journey! Be blessed.
