About me

Gender MALE
Occupation Retired Librarian
Location Middleton, Wisconsin
Introduction I retired in 2003 as Director of Public Library Development at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. After retirement I tried my hand for a few years as a library consultant, but have since given that up. I consider myself to be a library history buff, and have spent much of my retirement promoting library history especially Wisconsin’s library history. I am Chair of the Steering Committee for the Wisconsin Library Heritage Center, a program of the Wisconsin Library Association Foundation. The Wisconsin Library Heritage Center maintains a website (I’m the webmaster) and it sponsors the Wisconsin Library Hall of Fame. I have an extensive collection of library memorabilia which I have displayed at libraries around Wisconsin. I’m a stamp collector (philatelist) and serve as a Trustee of the American Philatelic Research Library in Pennsylvania. My exhibits of postal artifacts related to library history (I call this postal librariana) have received awards at state and national stamp shows.
