| Introduction | My husband (Rock) and I bought a house in the city of Albuquerque, NM last summer '10. Shortly after buying the house we acquired 2 Rhode Island Red Hens (Sweetie & Cha Cha) from Rock's grandmother, IT WAS LIFE CHANGING!! I never knew I could show so much love to a chicken! About a month after Sweetie and Cha Cha entered our lives Cha Cha passed away. Sweetie was an only child for 6 months and was spoiled rotten, she was even allowed in the home during the cold spell in the spring of '11. While Jennifer is the designer of the coop, Rock gets all the credit for the craftsmanship! We have posted a slide show of the before and after pics of the coop in stages. We are hoping to acquire a larger piece of land in the near future so we can continue our love of Raising Chickens! P.S.I looked up the city ordinance in the city of ABQ-- 15 chickens and 1 rooster, Urban Farming is Legal! |
