| Introduction | Journaling in some form or another has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember and I have the boxes to prove it! Since I was a little brown girl growing up in South Central, Los Angeles the ritual of finding the perfect journal, the pen that writes "just so" and curling up in a chair while my thoughts transform themselves into words on a page has literally offered a respite from the storms around me. You see...writing can be cleansing and has the power to make clear what is confusing or muddied. It can lead to understanding that can absolutely liberate us from what threatens to keep us in bondage. That's insight! And once we are free, we can practice being brave and asking for what we want.
