| Introduction | My name is Kayla and I am a 22 year old MSW student. I hope to go on to provide individual and group therapy to couples, families, and individuals. I have had many homes in the last decade and have enjoyed each one in its own way. I was born in Metro-Detroit and then moved to Battle Creek and back to Detroit. I completed my undergraduate studies at Lake Superior State. After that the boyfriend and I moved to Illinois for Grad School. I have a wonderful family. Most of my family lives in South Florida, but Jon and the cat, Fizz, keep me company here in IL. We're a small family, but we like it that way. I got into social work because I enjoyed working as a substance abuse counselor. I enjoyed my studies in psychology but, while I enjoyed the intellectual and research-based side of helping people, wanted to get my hands dirty and see the difference I make in lives. My main goal is to be loving. Above all else, I strive to let people know that they are not alone and that they are wonderful. I invite questions and dialogue. I am a very friendly, open person and value that in others. I hope you enjoy my blog and are helped by it. |
