| Introduction | I am a person shaped and tied tightly to my past by the three women who raised me. My mother, Irene, my grandmother Ada, and my great grandmother who I called Grandma. My dad was absent from my life until I was almost 11. I never dreamed that my mom, Ada Momma and grandma would all leave me in a period of a few years and that I'd be left with only men in my life. My dad, my brother, a husband and four sons. No mother and no daughter. Now my life took a new shape. But God blessed me with many sisters, friends, co-workers and prayer partners. The men in my life are each one dear to me, but there is that "something" that us women can understand about each other that is so very special. My mom and I could "talk" for hours and never get to the end of our problem or situation at hand. It was simply the "talking" that brought the satisfaction. I miss our "talks". |
