| Introduction | I am food obsessed. It’s hard not to be living in NYC's East Village – my local food mecca. Every week another enticing food joint opens. My obsession didn’t start here, but while living in London a few years ago, where papadums, fenugreek and taramasalata were regularly stocked in my neighborhood market. And because my flat had a dorm-sized fridge, I was forced to shop daily at the local butcher and corner shops, where an amazing array of spices and exotic fresh produce beckoned to come home with me. I succumbed, and then started learning how to actually use my new ingredients. I love bold tastes that make you hungry for more.
