Introduction I spent a summer, when I was five years old, twirling in a fantastic voluminous ballgown made from a white and orange silk parachute. A couple of years later I visited Versailles and stood in awe of the magnificence of the textiles in the Queen's Bed Chamber. I have been wrapped up in textiles ever since. Textile history, design, conservation and all the related creative activities - printing, dyeing, quilting, stitching - are my daily pursuits. I learned from my grandmother who sewed and painted, and from my mother who created beautiful needlepoint images. I'm inspired by the rich world of colour and texture, boldness and subtlety, creativity and craft, spontaneity and formality, tradition and the avant-garde. My studio work focuses on printmaking and fibre art. I worked for more than fifteen years as an interior designer, and for the last eight years as an exhibit designer and museum curator.
