About me

Gender FEMALE
Industry Non-Profit
Occupation Project Coordinator for After School Program
Location Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
Introduction I am on the journey of being the earth, mother of civilization intelligent, kind, straight to the point, loyal, friendly, Bay Area transplant (South Berkeley, CA to be exact)warm, distant (at times), worker and planner who is learning, growing and developing to make as much of a contribution to original people, and specifically my Nation, as possible. I like to set goals and accomplish them.
Interests Writing and performing Hip Hop and Spoken Word, Dancing, journaling, coordinating events, learning more about people, places and things that reveal why original people are in the time and space we are in, connecting communities so we can all be resources to each other to get what we need, community development, and saving the babies (more like my duty than an interest)
Favorite Movies I used to really like horror movies until I got the knowledge of myself. I still like some of the old school movies every now and then (i.e. Nightmnare on Elm Street)but movies like "Saw" traumatized me a bit. The imaginations of these writers and directors!I also like documentaries, dramas, some action flicks, comedies...a little bit of everything. Some of my favorite movies are Scarface, A Mighty Walk featuring John Henrik Clarke, Friday, The Spook that Sat by the Door, All Power to the People, Heat, The Color Purple (I cry every time I watch it on the same parts!)
Favorite Music I like a variety. Some artists I like are, myself, RXC (that's right...Stay off that Swine!), Liberation, Gemstar, Keek Da Sneak (Yay Area!), E-40, Pac, Beanie Seagel, Lil Wayne, Biggie, Nas, Eightball & MJG, Slim Thug (the singles), Jay-Z, Scarface, Portishead, Bjork, No Doubt, Bob Marley, Lil Kim, Lauryn Hill, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Morcheeba, Wasaname an Nem, Oschino, Ghostface Killa, Ciara (I like her singles...good dance music), Bill Withers, Stevie Woner, Al Green, and others
Favorite Books My all time favorite thus far: The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. Changed my life. Tha Autobiography of Assata Shakur also effected me profoundly...one of my motivators for moving to Pittsburgh. The Prisoners' Wife by Asha Bandele, The Coldest Winter Ever and No Disrespect by Sistah Souljah, Possessing the Secret of Joy by Alice Walker, Always Running, As A Man Thinketh, Yesterday I Cried by Iyanla Vanzant, Nile Valley Contributions to Civilization by Anthony Browder, and others.
