| Interests | Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal - now spending my time between Nepal and New York, I am a cookbook writer, blogger, and a photographer. My book Taste of Nepal "http://www.tasteofnepalcookbook.com" was published in 2007 and is a winner of 2008 "Best Foreign Cuisine Book" in the USA by Gourmand Cookbooks Awards. The second printing of paperback edition is being published at the end May. The book and the blog is my attempt to introduce Nepal's unique culture, culinary heritage, regional foods, and festivals. Both my cookbook and blog reflects the tradition of my home country, and my cultural upbringing. If I am able to introduce Nepali culinary traditions even on a small scale, that would be a great accomplishment. When I am not blogging, I keep myself busy with gardening, traveling, photography, reading, pressed-flower art, needlepoint - and appreciating the beauty of every single day .... |
