About me

Gender Female
Industry Manufacturing
Occupation Needlepoint Designer
Location Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
Introduction I have always been interested in fiber, much to the dismay of my mother who is a watercolor and oil artist. She could never understand the attraction I had for the tactile - gold and silver threads, combinations of colors running through my needle, blending and shading - although it does sound like watercolor and oil!!!! I love the stitching part using the fantastic array of stitches and adding beads, charms and whatnots to individual pieces. My latest obsession is adding lampwork beads to my original designs. It adds that extra zing to a design and makes it one-of-a-kind.
Interests walking, interacting with my four grandchildren, reading, touring Colorado, movies
Favorite Movies King Kong, Signs and Jurassic Park movies - what my daughter and I call "stitching movies". We can stitch away since we've seen them so many times and only have to look up once and while.
Favorite Books Mysteries, mysteries, mysteries. English are great fun but I go for the series where one character really gets developed.

Which is more important to you and why: flexibility or expandability?

I think flexibility is more important than expandability as as a designer and business owner you need to be ready for the next bump in the road and to roll with the punches, so to speak. You never know what is coming up next.
