Introduction Shortlisted eight times for the Bridport Prize - her flash fiction placed second in their 2017 anthology - Joanna also has stories in two Bristol Short Story Prize anthologies. She was second in the 2011 Scottish Writers Association’s contest and won the Exeter Writers competition. In 2013, she had a story in the Salt Anthology of New Writing and won local prize in the Bath Short Story Award, who included her novella-in-flash, A Safer Way To Fall, in their trio of novellas, How To Make A Window Snake (Ad Hoc Fiction). In 2015 she won the London Short Story Prize. In 2018, Royal Academy Pin Drop Award featured her story in A Short Affair (Scribner). She has a story in 24 Stories of hope for survivors of the Grenfell Tower Fire, edited by Kathy Burke, and two stories in the 2018 Stroud Short Stories anthology. Her novel, Tying Down The Lion, is published in paperback by Brick Lane. Her story collection, When Planets Slip Their Tracks, published by Ink Tears in hardback, was short-listed for The Rubery International Book Award and long-listed for The Edge Hill Story Prize.
